Attorney Gregory J. Fioritto presents

“Best Practices for Community Associations in a Post-Surfside World: Assessments, Amendments, Reserve Studies and Governance”

The June 24, 2021 collapse of Champlain Towers South has caused many condominium and homeowners’ association boards to re-examine their rules, policies, and operations on many fronts. This session hosted by Partner Gregory J. Fioritto will examine the potential impact of Surfside on several different aspects of community association operations and governance, and how this disaster might ultimately result in positive change for associations. Practical examples of how your association might guard against similar risks in relation to such topics as assessments, document amendments, governance and reserve studies will be explored. The changing landscape of the laws across the nation in regard to reserve studies specifically and reserve funding requirements will also be reviewed.
